    Welcome

Wimmera Volunteers was established in 1984, to provide a number of services for the aged and people with a disability who are house bound or isolated due to frailty, lack of confidence, geographic or other factors.

We assist not for profit organisations in setting up volunteer programs, with advice on volunteer insurance, training and policy details.

We welcome anyone interested in volunteering and we can refer you to an area of interest to you.

Your access issues are important to us

The Wimmera Transport Connections project invites you to talk to us about Transport and Access issues you and others in your community experience.

The Transport Connections Program works with communities to enhance the opportunities for people with limited access to transport to participate in community life and access services and resources.

To enable us to be better informed about the transport and access issues in your community, please This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .

    Has volunteering changed your life?

Wimmera Volunteers and Net Balance Foundation are conducting research into the role and value of volunteering in the Wimmera.

We’d love to hear your story.

Please complete the online survey (Closing 20 May 2012) to support the research. You can also download the survey and post it back to us.

Your Participation in this study will help involve other volunteers in building stronger communities in the Wimmera.

Working with Children Check – are your details up to date?

Have you moved house, changed jobs or where you volunteer and perhaps forgotten to tell the Department of Justice? Keeping your contact and ‘child-related work’ details up to date is an important responsibility of WWC Check cardholders and applicants so you can be notified of changes in the status of your card and when the card is due for renewal

Did you know you mustinform the Department of Justice within 21 days every time you change employers or voluntary organisation? This is a legal requirement under the Working with Children Act 2005. You are committing an offence with financial penalties if you fail to do so.

If you have moved house or changed employer or volunteer organisation update your details at the WWC Check website or call the Information Line on 1300 652 879.
